HUBA For Deaf Youth FC is a sports development initiative of HUBA Ear Care Foundation, created to provide deaf young people with opportunities to discover their full potential through football.
The initiative is focused on developing talent, building confidence, promoting teamwork and discipline, and creating pathways for deaf youth to pursue their dreams and have hope for a better future.
Our vision is to develop talented deaf footballers to compete at national and international levels, while creating greater opportunities, visibility and inclusion for deaf young people through sport.
We believe every deaf young person deserves the opportunity to discover their talent, believe in themselves, and reach their highest potential.
Football as a Bridge to Confidence and Inclusion
Sports provide an extraordinary medium for social integration, physical wellness, and self-confidence. Deaf youth frequently face exclusion from mainstream athletic teams due to communication barriers.
HUBA For Deaf Youth FC was created to give deaf athletes in Kaduna a dedicated space to train under structured coaching, learn tactics using visual sign-cues, and compete in regional tournaments with pride.
Tactical Communication on the Pitch
Our coaches utilize visual refereeing signals, flags, and tailored sign-language playbooks so players communicate effortlessly during high-tempo matches.
Mentorship & Career Paths
Beyond sports skills, team members receive life-skills mentoring, educational support through the Usman Bin Abubakar Academy, and vocational opportunities.
